About Us
The Silver Screen is one of the most inclusive and exclusive film magazines in the world, we try to cover every corner of the industry, be that mainstream blockbusters, throwbacks to classic pieces of cinematography, coverage of brilliant foreign films or even highlighting individuals who's talents or contributions have gone unfairly unnoticed.
Our first goal is to introduce the greatest sides of cinema to individuals that may not have had the luck to discover them on their own. This means our main priority is the younger generation as we feel they are most in need of a proper introduction to proper cinema. This is what separates us from other film magazines, rather than just showing young adults what they want to see, we emphasise what we feel they need to see. Meaning, we don't just focus on the blockbusters, but the classics, the masterpieces from around the world and even the individuals we feel deserve more credit. We prioritise meaningful movements and individuals over celebrities when deciding on a cover story for the latest issue of the magazine.
Our second goal, rather than being about the effects our content has on our audience, is about the effects our audience has on our content. What we mean is that we hope by highlighting certain stories and individuals in the film industry, that new audiences will grow in the right places. Being inclusive is not just about covering old or world cinema, but highlighting gifted individuals that many, even those with a great passion for films, may never have heard of.
We have also worked with several charities such as MediCinema and The Film and TV Charity, in the hopes to improve the lives of both film lovers and those who continue to be under-paid and under appreciated in the film industry. As of now, 20% of all profits from issues sold are donated to the two charities mentioned, you can do your part simply by purchasing the latest issues of The Silver Screen.
